My Three Day Weekend

First, let me say that school is out for all of my districts~~YAY!!!! I now have a light week of therapy and then summer school starts (which is okay because it's half days).

So, how did you spend your holiday weekend?

On Saturday morning we loaded the boys into the car and went to see Indiana Jones. Matt, Ty & I loved it. Riley, of course, slept through it like the good little baby that he is. The movie was a little different from the previous three, but it was awesome to see Harrison Ford back in the leather jacket and hat, cracking that whip and spouting witty one-liners.

On Sunday we spent most of the day hanging out at the in-laws' house. We had some great BBQ and watched the Indy 500. I'm not much into racing, but it was some nice knitting time for me.

Yesterday we tackled a home improvement project. We put this in our backyard:
We have terrible soil here... it's completely made up of red clay and huge rocks, so it took all day. Matt will be getting a new grill for Father's Day, so we decided to put in a small patio. The grill (and a couple of chairs) will live here now, instead of on my deck. (It's two different colors because we had rain off & on all day... the darker ones are just the ones that got rained on.)

Other than that, it was a quiet weekend. It was a great way to kick off summer.

I don't have much in the way of knitting content, though it's not for a lack of knitting. It's just that progress is slow on Sweet Pea's blanket. I have only 4 1/2 more blocks to add, but at this point each one is so long that it takes forever. I've also been playing around with doing a blanket for Riley that will be made up of knitted granny squares. I'm still contemplating the pattern (and whether I have the stamina for back to back blankets).

So, instead of knitting pictures, I though I'd share a couple of recent photos of the boys. (Did I mention that I love saying that? "The boys..." because now there are two of them!!!)

Ty recently fell asleep mid-play during a visit with my dad. He was playing and playing and playing on the bean bag, and very suddenly got still. ZZZzzzzz....

Friday is bath day for Riley. This boy just LOVES a good bath. It's the instant fussy-butt reliever!
Well, I've really been in the knitting mood lately, and am grabbing moments whenever I can. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish Sweet-Pea's blanket and move on to something else soon.

You look great! And the boys seem to grow so much, so fast.

BTW, I'm working on a knitted version of the crocheted Babette (check Rav) blanket with the designers approval and have worked up a design for knitted granny squares. Let me know if you're interested in giving them a try.
