Are You SURE it's Fall?

I ask if anyone is sure it's fall because the weather here in St. Louis didn't seem to notice the official changing of the seasons. The high today was around 88 degrees, and we haven't seen a drop of rain in weeks. It sucks. My mind says it's fall, but my body has to keep wearing shorts. I say it again: It Sucks (with a capitol S).

I don't have much to say about knitting today. I have been knitting... a whole lot. But with three projects going at the same time (plus a few trysts with my sewing machine and crochet hook) all my knitting time seems to be adding up to very little actual progress.

This is why I am a one-project-knitter. (Socks don't count.) And in an effort to get to the finish line on something, I have returned to my one-project ways. I am determined to finish the Lattice socks by this time next week. I am finished with the leg and will be turning the heel tonight. If I ever mention doing cabled socks again, please smack me in my head.

I have forsaken the garter shawl, and yes, even Sweet Pea's blanket to get this sock off my needles. I have Christmas knitting to start & I need the needles. So, progress is being made, I just don't have anything to show for it yet. (Don't you just hate that?)

We've had a couple of busy weekends around here, and in the absence of any real knitting news I thought I'd share a few of my favorite photos of Ty with ya'll.

Now, this is how donuts should be eaten. We started a recent morning with a rare trip to the Donut Stop.
Look at that satisfied kid. The donut was thoroughly enjoyed.
After that we put him to work. Child Labor be darned, I say! Actually, he was dying to help with installing the new bathroom floor. He couldn't participate in he demo phase, what with all the hammers, crowbars, and grown men who found themselves transformed into eight-year-old boys again. So, he got to do a little painting. (I'll post photos of the before & after as soon as I get the "after" photo taken...)
And, apparently, all the construction wore the poor little guy out. He fell asleep at the dinner table, still gripping his sloppy joe as if it were a priceless treasure. (What can I say? The kid loves his sloppy joes!)
Well, that's about all for now. I am anxious to get the Lattice sock #2 OFF the needles, and cannot wait to get the garter shawl (which has fallen into the knitting black hole) done. These two projects have just been hanging around here too long. This house isn't big enough for the three of us.

I've been rather absent from Blogland myself, so hadn't read your recent post about Mystery Project #3 .... yippee!!! Congrats!!! I'm so excited for all of you.

Sweet Pea's blanket is going to be lovely and soft is good.

Glad you're feeling better - can't wait to hear more as things progress. Since I won't be having anymore babies, I have to live vicariously through my friends who are having babies!

Autumn is my favorite season, and I am completely bummed it hasn't really started yet! I'm going to the Mizzou Homecoming football game on 10/20, and if I'm not in a zip up hoodie by then, I will be really upset!
